The Beast Without Beauty

Whenever I see the moon
so full and bright
My heart begins to swoon
with love and loneliness
Whenever I look in the mirror
so clear and magical
I see the Beast of horror
without his Beauty
The Beast I know is I
so lonely and ugly
The Beast that will cry
for want of love
A creature cursed and living
in his own prison
Always with love for giving
never to receive
Destined to feel the pain
of love in bloom
Doomed to have the crimson stain
of the aching heart
You are the Beauty of my heart
no other can replace
Who’s life I am of no part
now and then
